Change of Change of Plans

This morning I handed in and had my assistant enter my students grades in the school system.

I have a few days here to do what I want to do. I thought I might catch a train somewhere, but that takes too much planning for the last minute. So, instead I found a list of the best restaurants in Yantai, and I took a Taxi ride to the one that sounded best to me. It was no disappointment, it was the best food I have had in a long time.

I had a platter of shrimp, melon, cucumber, carrots, cashew nuts, and some special ingredients, I suppose, and it was delicious. I also had a platter of eggplant cucumber and thinly noodled chicken. Mmmmmmm, that was fantastic. To top it all off I had a bowl of the best noodle soup I ever put in mouth.

I wasn't done with the day, so I jumped in a Taxi and showed the driver my map. I pointed to the tip of the peninsula that juts out of downtown Yantai. It was a long ride, and 32 Yuan later I was at the Yantai Raffles Ship Building Crane (The largest crane of its kind in the world). It can lift and entire Old Rig out of the water, and hold it there for workers to get underneath it.

The road out on the peninsula was a dead end. The Taxi turned back. As we headed back I saw a Giant Buddha encased in Plexiglas inside of an old fashioned temple. So, I asked the cab to pull a u-turn, and had him drop me off by the park where the Buddha sat.
