I was cruising around Yantai yesterday, when I came upon a French Cuisine Cafe. I started to stop and say hello, and the coffee sign caught my eye. I went inside to see what coffee lay beyond the door. The owner sprung from behind the bar and greeted me near the door. He offered me a seat and some fine french cuisine.
He spoke in French, Italian and words with a little sprinkle of Chinese. His coffee came in a silver insulated caraffe and tasted like some fine craft or art, and his wine he offered free. So I sat and had a set of coffee, and a glass of the best wine I've had in ages. The wine was a unique bottle of the local Changyu brand. The restaurant was beautifully adorned and covered in a soft warm and comforting light, wherein I felt like our paths meet in Ol' Paris.
It was fascinating to know that local citizens of Yantai spend decaed abroad studying french cooking and then return to the lovely little town to serve the peoples palletes needs or necessities.
