The medium

The medium is my way of understanding the transactional nature of international exchanges. The medium is the matterial that makes these events happen. It is the encompassing concept for all communications between international people.

I am Brian Panahi Johnson. I have a history. The story of my history is not important. The most important point of fact is that I am going to China to teach courses in law to Chinese University students.

My goal is to learn to speak Mandarin and to learn the differences and similarities of Chinese and American law. I want to learn the way Chinese nationals consider contracts. I want to learn the way Mandarin translates into English. I want to learn the common law of China.

I know you. You are like me. You are not knowledgable about China. You have not been there. You wonder what makes people tick, and you wonder if Chinese people are any different.

My goal is to show you how similar they are to me. I want to find the points that relate us and the common things that motivate us.

This blog will cover my voyage to Yantai, Shandong Province, China; my quest to teach Chinese students with an interest in English law; and my attempt to become a better medium between the ways of the East and the ways of the West.
