My fiend, Yang Fang Lin, invited me to see the Psychology Department's performance art "party." She reserved me a seat, next to her boyfriend, whom is a very nice gentleman. She and I met at the little market near my apartment. We have something in common, but we don't know exactly what it is. She speaks very good English, at least her accent and voice is very comforting. In any event, she is a very nice person, and I wish I could just be friends with her. So, we are going to be friends. So, I went to this "party," and she is one of the dancers in a hip hop group. It is very sweet, that she asked me to go, because I don't know, it is something new to me. She told me she is a dancer, but I couldn't imagine how, because well I am not that imaginative. There are numerous acts in the performance. They all deserve applause, and in fact they are all very good. I took a lot of photos, but I will spare you the poorly shot ones and give you the best of the crop. That's 杨芳林(pronounced Fang Lin) on the far right.
As you can see it is quite a production, there are lights, smoke machines, speaker boxes, and many dancing girls. What fun it is to observe dancing girls!
This girl was astoundingly cute, with her poodle dress, poodle hairdo, and poodle boots. Any ways, I found that she was very talented. She sang a number with a friend, like a duet, but with dancing and some counter-play.
These were the hosts for the show. They came out between performances. I couldn't understand a full sentence, but I heard Laoshi many times, and Yang Fang Lin told me that the first act was about the earthquake. She asked me to feel the mood, because even though I couldn't understand the words, the mood was set.
This was a Gong Fu performance, where the men paired up into teams of two and performed various gong fu moves on each other. It is my favorite one, but Fang Lin's was my personal best friend's, so I favor it more. Here are some more pictures of it:
